Follow Up Interview With Jorge Cruise

Not only is today the day you can now buy Jorge Cruise’s Belly Fat Cure book in stores, I received a call from his office yesterday to ask if I would be available to come in today for a follow up video interview to the sugar experiment video. Fortunately I was free today so I agreed to stop by the office.

When I stop in, I like to bring some of my treats from my latest recipes so I unfortunately didn’t have any on hand as I left the last of my last batches at my parent’s house over Christmas. I made sure to leave work a little bit early so I could race down to the health food stores to pick up the supplies I needed to whip up a batch of Nanaimo Bars. Normally it’s best to make them a day ahead so they have time to properly chill in the refrigerator, but I didn’t have a chance to go to the store yesterday and so a few short hours in the freezer was going to have to make up for overnight in the refrigerator…hopefully.

I got all my ingredients ready, raced through the production of the Nanaimo Bars as quickly as possible and got them in the freezer while I got ready. They had asked me to bring a couple of solid colored shirts with no logos on them, which is a small problem for me, as the bulk of my non-work related wardrobe consists of printed t-shirts. If it’s got a funny saying or a logo I love to wear it. Plain stuff is just too boring to me, so I had to make a special trip to the store.

When I arrived, I was greeted by Jorge’s assistant, Michelle, but was told Jorge wasn’t yet back and would probably be delayed a few minutes. She was excited I brought by some more of my Nanaimo Bars and we put them in the refrigerator to keep them cold while I waited for the few minutes before Jorge and his camera crew arrived. We then picked a color from the shirts selection I brought and then went outside to film an update to the sugar experiment video where Jorge asked me a bunch of questions like what I thought during the experiment, how I’ve been since the experiment, and some of my experiences from being on the Belly Fat Cure and keeping it up for the rest of the year. He also asked me to share a couple of tips that have been some of my secrets to success. And a couple of stories along the way.

I don’t know what all will make it into the video that gets pieced together from the footage, but it was a fun follow up for a program that’s literally made me 25% smaller than I was when I started the program. And once we wrapped up Jorge had to run because it was just a few minutes before he was to be appearing live on’s main page as a featured live video to celebrate the release of the Belly Fat Cure book. Hopefully soon, I’ll be able to share the new video here on my blog. Stay tuned as they say. You might be seeing more of me in Jorge Cruise’s work soon.

  1. Hi Ryan.

Thank you so much for posting your progress on your website. I just finished one week on the program (lost 5 lbs.) and was looking ’round the ‘net for tips and inspiration and found you.

The sugar experiment video made me laugh… you looked like you were trying really hard not to gag on the cola. But what really hit home was the difference in blood quality after sugar ingestion. Good lord, my blood has been gooey all my life! That could very well be the source of my blue lips and exercise induced asthma… the blood just couldn’t get oxygen to the body tissues in that state. What an eye opener.

I’m going to go browse around for your recipes now. Keep up the good work and thanks for the inspiration!

  2. Hi Annette,

Thank you for writing in your comment. I do hope my blog entries have served to be helpful in getting to know the Belly Fat Cure program better. Congratulations on you first five pounds lost on the program.

In regards to the sugar experiment, It was more the banana I was gagging on than the soda. I don’t like Bananas at all, but “took one for the team” so to speak for the video because people think they are what they should be eating when they want to lose weight. Maybe once they’re down to where they want to stop, but not me, I’ll pass on the bananas. I probably looked like that on the soda because I was trying to get it down quickly. Believe me, I do know what you mean about my blood being gooey all my life. Mine was definitely in a constant state of it once I realized how much sugar I really was taking in before.

You will have to let me know how the reduction in sugar helps with your blue lips and exercise induced asthma. I know it was a shocker for me to see the blood transform from a healthy state to one unable to transport oxygen efficiently. If you see dramatic changes in your blue lips and exercise induced asthma, I would definitely love to hear about how the low sugar program has changed your experiences with those conditions. And I’d even suggest writing in to Jorge Cruise to let him know your results there as well.

Thanks again for finding my blog and writing in.
