To get ready for tomorrow’s book launch of the Belly Fat Cure, Jorge Cruise has prepared a series of “Ask Jorge” videos on YouTube to answer the most common questions people have about health and wellness. Jorge also invites you to visit his YouTube Channel to submit your own questions on fitness, wellness, motivation, nutrition, and health.

Jorge will be drawing from the submitted questions for future Ask Jorge videos. We’re just a couple of days away from the launch of the Belly Fat Cure book and if you’re new to hearing about the Belly Fat Cure, you may be curious what it is. For me personally, the Belly Fat Cure has resulted in my being able to shed 74 pounds and 10 inches off the circumference of my belly. I still have more I want to lose, but I’ve already lost about 25% of my starting weight and I’m looking to lose about half of the weight I had when I started the program.

My opinion is that you should just get the book, it’s on sale at Amazon.com for about $10 and it’s loaded with information about how and why you store fat, how to get rid of it, and then tons of recipes and food items to show better alternatives to what you’re probably already doing. But I can understand a little bit of hesitancy and skepticism especially if you’re not sure what it is. When Roku first introduced the Roku Netflix Player in mid 2008, the only service it accessed was Netflix. For a Netflix subscriber, it was a relatively no-brainer addition to their homes because it was a one time $99.99 purchase for the box and it would allow them to stream Netflix’s Instant access library of movies and tv shows directly to their televisions for no additional cost to their Netflix subscriptions. The box is prepared for any kind of connection to the television with outputs including HDMI, Component Video, Composite Video, S-Video, and even audio outputs in both analog and optical. And it can be connected to the Internet with either an Ethernet cable or it’s built-in wireless connection.

The first available movies and television shows on the Roku Netflix Player were all older titles. Eventually Netflix partnered with Starz to bring more recently released titles to their instant viewing offerings. Roku, the manufacturer of the box, promised the box would be able to access additional sources of content in the future. In early 2009, Roku added access to Amazon’s Video On Demand service which allows the owners of the box the ability to purchase or rent movies or television shows on a per-title basis. This allowed people with the box the opportunity to enjoy the most currently released content right on the box as soon as the day of release for most titles. And both Netflix and Amazon were offering the opportunity to watch content on the box in High Definition. The HD streaming is only available if you’re connecting the box to your television or entertainment system through an HDMI connection.

As retailers coerce manufacturers into getting exclusive versions of products to try and attract buyers without having to actually compete on price. In a way it’s kind of a dirty way to get fans to buy multiple products when exclusives are offered to multiple retailers and to extort the highest prices on the “Limited Edition” versions.

In the case of the latest Star Trek film, here in the US, Paramount Pictures, authorized several exclusives options. One set of retailers, FYE, Coconuts, & Suncoast, (all owned by the same parent company) offered the film in a collectible steelbox shell, Hollywood Video is offering a chance to win an autographed poster with a purchase or rental of the movie, Best Buy is offering a set of four pins to cover the various departmental delta shields seen on the uniforms in the movie. CVS Pharmacies are offering the chance to buy the movie for a discounted rate with the purchase of an iTunes gift card. Allegedly Wal-Mart is or was offering a Blu-Ray set that included the standard DVD as well, but I’ve not been able to confirm that one. And both Amazon and Target are offering Enterprise models as their exclusives. The Amazon one is certainly the higher ticket one, made of solid metal with chrome, textured steel and pewter finishes as well as being limited to only 5,000 pieces but at $100 a pop, a little too pricey in my book, albeit very nice looking.

If you’re a fan of the rebooted Doctor Who that’s had Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant in the title role, then Amazon has a great deal for you, but you have to act now, because the deal is for today only!! If you’re like me and previously though the DVD sets from the BBC are considerably overpriced, then today is your day!

Amazon has the box sets for each of the four seasons of the show on sale today for $32.49 a piece. That’s 59% off the list price of $79.99 and 50% off of Amazon’s regular price of $64.99. I’ve been hesitant to buy the sets myself because quite frankly I felt they were a complete rip off at their regular price. The show has been remarkably good and I definitely wanted the sets but I’m sorry $65 to $80 a set was way too much money in my opinion for a show that only does 13 episodes a season. Maybe if they were 26 episode seasons like most American shows, it would be a reasonable price, but for 13 episodes, forget it. So for literally half price today only at Amazon, the sets are actually affordable.

The show is brilliant and well written and getting all four sets is truly the best option if you’ve never seen it. The way the show ends in the fourth season ties back to the entire series in such a well thought out way that you get the feeling the ending was always in mind when they established the series. Few shows pay off and spread out the storyline over so many seasons that you’re going to be amazed and wish American shows would do this. Lost may eventually pay off in this way, but we won’t know for sure until the final season completes it.

In addition to seeing the Speak & Spell when I was browsing through the channels, I also came across an infomercial for a weight loss program called “The Food Lovers Fat Loss System” by some mysterious guy named Robert Ferguson. I stopped to watch the infomercial out of curiosity to what the gimmick of diet program is. And from what I saw, it looks to me that the program is very similar to what I’ve learned on Jorge Cruise’s Belly Fat Cure program.

The infomercial claims that its possible to still eat all your favorite foods and do so in a way that makes it so that it will speed up your metabolism and help you lose weight. It then has some older lady with lesbian-esque spikey hair proclaims she can eat chocolate, pastas with cream sauces, pancakes, and has kept the weight off for over four years. My first thoughts were, yeah, all of those can be done on the Belly Fat Cure, but how can this lady have kept the weight off for four years if this a program that looks pretty new? Robert Ferguson then says you’ll eat so you’ll never be hungry, never have food you don’t like, and never deprive yourself of the foods you love.

I love the Internet. My previous post about the Margaritaville Tailgating Grill that I had seen while shopping at one of the local San Diego area Costco Membership Warehouse stores was only supposed to be a one off post. I never in a million years thought I’d be writing a second blog entry about the grill and for that matter so soon. Click here to read that entry. But the nature of the Internet being what it is, my blog post was spotted by local tailgating enthusiast, Dave Lamm, of TailgatingIdeas.com and he decided to leave a comment here on my blog.

Dave wrote to say that not only does he have the Margaritaville Tailgating Grill, but he’s also taken it a step further and completely customized it with the team colors for the San Diego Chargers and of course, decked out the grill with the Charger’s logo as well. Dave has literally taken the grill from a novelty level of coolness to practically must-have level of coolness. Gone are the plain looking grey swing arm and the obnoxious lime green look of the original grill. In their place are the ultra-cool looking Chargers team Golden yellow swing arm, and Blue accent colors for the trim. In fact, I’ll even go so far as to say the finished grill resembles a football helmet now that’s sporting team colors. It looks great. It definitely screams “Sports Fan” where the unaltered grill kind of screams “Yuppie.”

Recently I had the opportunity to try XyloSweet and found it to be a very good Xylitol brand of sugar substitute. I had seen Amazon.com offers the XyloSweet in a great price for a 5 pound bag, but I wasn’t willing to commit to that big a bag without trying it first.

I had purchased a two pound bag at one of the local natural foods stores and made a batch of my sugar free Nanaimo Bars with it and my almost sugar free Black Forest cake for my birthday. I found the Xylitol to be really good. So it made sense to get the 5 pound bag from Amazon as it’s $23.99 plus tax and shipping as it’s a third party sale from the Vitamin Shoppe and not directly carried by Amazon. So with the tax and 99 cents for shipping, it was less than $28 that I was able to get the Xylitol in the five pound bag. This sure beats paying $8-$10 a bag for one pound bags as I have done with other brands in the past. It also nice to have it delivered to as it was there in just a couple of days by UPS delivery.
