Hi Giulietta,

Thanks so much for checking out my blog. Glad to hear the Stayin' Alive blog entry tickled your memories. The Bee Gees have written some awesome music over the years and I think it's really cool that one so appropriate can be used for Hands Only CPR techniques. I would love to read your "Stayin' Alive In The Laundry Room" essay sometime.

And I like your blog as well. I hope my readers take a chance to click over to giuliettathemuse.com and read your blog as well.

Hi Ryan,

Am a Connie Green fellow power blog challenger. Making my rounds among the completers. Saturday Night Fever is one of my favorite movies for a million reasons, the music being one of them. Happy to hear it does indeed keep folks alive! I had an essay published called "Stayin' Alive in the Laundry Room," a dedication of sorts to the Bee Gees and the movie's wonderful soundtrack.

Best of luck with your blogging and biz!

Hi Letitia,

Thanks very much for stopping by my blog site and the congrats on my recent weight loss. I am always amazed by how people find my blog so thank you for sharing that you found me though my remarks about boredom. Boy, those search engines are quick. Thank you also for the link to your site. I've clicked through and browsed a few articles. I am definitely going to be reading through more.

It's not so much the music is not overpowering the boredom, as I flat out won't run without any music. I've been at the running for seven months and the music is definitely necessary to make it through the workout, but even still I just want the workout over and done with as quickly as possible. I suppose to some degree I'm also a bit bored with the music on my iPod because I know it so well. One of the applications on my iPod I really enjoy using is Pandora Internet Radio. I like the randomness of it and it does a very good job of picking songs based on song or band I entered for it to base its playlist on. It does a very good job of mixing in songs I don't already know or have on my iPod so it does feel fresh to listen to it, the only unfortunately thing is that it's not playable while using the Nike+ application. The Nike+ application only draws songs from what's on the iPod.

I will have to give your suggestion of fantasy a try. It seems like it could be a lot of fun to try. Thank you for the suggestion.

And to my readers, please go check out Letitia's website at ThePowerOfBoredom.com, it has very interesting articles.

Thanks again Letitia.

Congratulations on your weight loss and waist loss! Really impressive. I lost 20 pounds once and kept it off for two years and thought I had it licked (like an addict) and so stopped paying attention and it's all back and I don't seem to be able to do the diet change I did before. Anyway, I found you because of your remarks about boredom, as I'm a motivation coach writing a book about boredom, although my blog posts are rather random about boredom: See me at ThePowerOfBoredom.com

It's interesting that while running you enjoy the music but it doesn't overpower the boredom. If you're like me, good music makes me slow down to give greater attention to it. Same with an interesting lecture. I'm not a multitasker.

I recommend fantasy for running....but then I'm a fantasy machine. I see the next landmark and I imagine getting there is a life or death matter with characters and situations to suit. Then when I get there, I imagine celebration, praise, whatever, and then a renewal of the fantasy...escape the next enemy or save the next child in danger or win the next trophy. It works for me. What do you think?
